On Friday 12th August, The Highland Council validated the application submitted by Boralex for a battery energy storage system (BESS) on Lochluichart Estate, near Garve in the Highlands. The BESS would store up to 36MW of renewable energy at times when it is unable to be taken onto the national grid, helping reduce the need for curtailment of local wind farms.
You can find all of the documents relating to the application in the downloads section of this website. The case reference for THC planning portal is 25/03004/FUL.
